MY NAME IS ROBERT TALAVERA. I am the founder and proprietor of Sunset Tours, and Puerto Rico is my favorite place on earth.

I was born and raised in New York City, but spent many happy childhood vacations with my family in San Juan. While on vacation, we would sometimes make side trips to other Caribbean islands – St. Maarten/St, Martin, St. Thomas, and the Virgin Islands, to name a few – giving me a natural affinity and appreciation for this part of the world. Always at the center of these childhood junkets was Puerto Rico, my ancestral and spiritual home.

My life in New York had its pleasures, but I always knew that someday I would return to Puerto Rico to live; it was just a matter of time. Along the way, I spent several years working in the tourism industry in Florida, gaining the travel and hospitality experience I would need to establish my business.

Then, in 2001, I came home. It was the best decision I ever made: to live in the land I love, and do what I love to do. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than to share my knowledge with visitors to my Isla del Encanto.
